New project

Food tradition “Shigureni” of Hokusei-area in Mie and “Ama fishing method” of Shima-area is collaborated!
We are doing new project with male Amas of Shima using Mie subsidy since 2018, and developing new products and souvenirs for hotels and foreign countries with high-grade seafood in Iseshima such as ear shell, turban shell, sea cucumber and other rare shells and seaweed.
There are still many kinds of seafoods that only local people in Shima know.
We buy these seafoods directly from professional male Amas (fisher) who know Shima sea well, use local seasonings like soy sauce and develop safe and high-quality seafood products to make new house brand and market.

Making seasoning Tamari soy sauce in Mie
Okamoto inc. in Yokkaichi, which is one of our seasonning suppliers, is the only company to keep traditional way of making soy sauce since it was established in Tenpo era.
They use ingredients only from Mie to make Tamari soy sauce, which includes more amount of soy beans and has more umami compared to ordinal soy sauce.
We ask them to use soy beans and salt in Mie, domestic wheat and water from Suzuka Mountain to make traditional Tamari soy sauce.
Tamari soy sauce in this area has good taste and color, goes well with seafoods and umami of shells.
We make difference from other companies by making traditional and natural seasoning again, seasoning with a way of bringing out umami of shells, wrapping that meets the demand of the present age.

Aiming for global seafood processing industry
Globalization of Japanese agriculture products falls behind compared to industrial products. To make matters worse, environment of Tsukudani industry such as decreasing birthrate and aging population, change of consumers’ needs and depletion of aquatic resource, is getting worse. Furthermore, it’s easy to imagine that lots of cheaper products will be imported from Asian countries because of trade liberalization.
Given this situation, we decided to change ourselves to be global seafood processing industry and made new growth strategies. One of them is “procuring aquatic resource from domestic and overseas by ourselves”. We have visited domestic and overseas suppliers by ourselves since 2018 to reduce procuring cost. Other is “selling original brand products globally”. We are developing original brand such as “Ai-no-megumi” lines which we use high-quality seafood in Iseshima and selling them domestic and overseas.
